For the Users
It’s been a pretty amazing experience getting feedback from people using Refraction. We’ve been sifting through emails and comments and errors and trying to make changes where we feel our users would most benefit from them.
We’ve implemented a new tutorial interface for certain levels that introduce new concepts. People don’t want to read, they like pictures.
There’s also a new level complete dialog at the end of a level. A lot of people didn’t like how once you beat a level the dialog popped up and obscured the level. So we simply changed it so that the bottom dialog changes to a back and next button, so you can admire your handiwork :).
We’re also still looking into several issues concerning laser calculations. There’s a ton of math and path tracing with the lasers, and issues with infinite loops and doors closing on a laser which causes the door to open which causes the laser to close the door which causes the door to open, which causes the laser to shoot out and close the door which …. see what we mean? this stuff is hard to figure out haha.
So for now, if the game crashes on you, just back out and restart it. Most of our crashing errors seem to be confined to very specific situations, which are hard to reproduce, so we’re hoping the rest of you have issues reproducing them as well ;).
We should be pushing out the updated lite version soon, not sure on a timeline. Maybe we’ll throw in a few extra levels to entice some of you back to try it out, eh eh eh? You’re tempted riiiight?
